Useful Tips for Certificate Attestation Procedure

Attestation or Authentication or Verification of a certificate confirms the authenticity of the certificate as well as the certificate holder. The concept of certificate attestation procedure is founded in affixing an authoritative signature or a symbol for proving the originality of a document. Certificate verification is the procedure of validating the genuineness of the certificate.
If you miss to get your certificate attested on time, there is a big chance for losing a good job opportunity that you have been offered. Because, the genuine procedures of verification, authentication or attestation is a time consuming process and most of the employers are in hurry to appoint the new employees and start their work as soon as possible. So the employers will not wait such a long time for you, instead they give preference for those who have already completed the attestation process of their documents.

Authentication of documents is necessitated when a person plans to go abroad for doing higher studies or jobs or Business.
Most of the document legalisation procedure involves the following steps:

1. Verification at the University/Board/department from where the documents are issued
2. The document then passes to the HRD Department for State HRD attestation
3. Again the Certificate goes to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for MEA attestation
4. Finally it is passed on to the respective Embassy or Consulate for Embassy attestation or Consulate attestation.

The certification or certificate verification or Attestation procedure starts from the issue point of the certificate or HRD or home department or University at State level. The Human Resource Development Departments attestation is known as HRD Attestation. The Ministry of External Affairs has given approval to the State Home Ministry for doing the HRD attestation and Home MInistry of the State has given approval to various departments to do HRD attestation. HRD plays the main role in applying for jobs or for further studies in abroad. HRD attestation procedure is almost the same for all states in India though known in different names.

For eg; HRD attestation done in Kerala is known as NORKA attestation. HRD Attestation from Hyderabad is known as GAD Attestation. HRD Attestation from Tamil Nadu is known as Secretariat Attestation. HRD Attestation from Delhi is known as HRD Attestation.

After completing the HRD attestation we can go for MEA attestation. MEA stands for Ministry of External Affairs, located at New Delhi. The address of the office is as follows:

Ministry of External Affairs, Patiala House, Tilak marg, New Delhi.

MEA Attestation can be done through the authorised agencies only. MEA Attestation also can be done from few States in India.

The document authentication process is completed when the documents are attested from the respective embassy of the nation where the candidate wants to migrate to.
